At the start, at the midway, and still at the closing stages of an exciting racing season, Sammy Swindell has been a force to reckon with in 2011. Adding to an already impressive list of finishes throughout the year, Swindell notched the win column again this past weekend, claiming the top spot at the 24th Annual Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas.

A large contingent of sprint car racing’s top drivers, 100 in total, were part of this grand event which kicked off earlier in the week on the high-banked ¼ mile clay battle ground. With preliminary action capped off and the lineup completed and announced for the A-Main, the stage was set for the $15,000 to win finale and the anticipation sky-rocketed amongst not only the crowd, but also the starting field of 21 cars, as the drivers strapped-in and prepared for a 40 lap battle.

Swindell rocked to the lead close to the midpoint of the event, and even with a completely air-depleted left front tire and caution flag with twelve laps remaining in the event, the Germantown, TN driver continued with his 2011 winning ways, crossing the line up front and putting himself and the Big Game Tree Stands Crew back in victory lane once again.

The rumble and roar coming from Thunder Valley last weekend wasn't that from the usual stock car event, it was the pleasurable sights and sounds of the earth shaking high horse powered winged sprint cars from The Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series which took to the legendary half-miled high banks of Bristol, TN on Saturday October 1st for their inaugural event, paying a strong $10,000.00 to the evenings winner. From the get go, action was close, times and records were lowered, and the series capped off a successful season with an historic finale.

Fishers, Indiana native, Brian Gerster, knocked down the previous track record set earlier in the year at the "Speed Trails" competition by turning an impressive 12.742 second lap time in qualifying. Gerster's average speed for the record lap clicked the gun at a jaw dropping 150.585 miles per hour.

The feature event was nothing short of over the edge excitement, even with Gerster starting on the point, the battle raged on early having to fight off challenges from Todd Fayard and Travis Miniea. Miniea took command of the event briefly before trouble sidelined his efforts, again turning the top spot to Gerster who powered ahead of the rest of the field and earned the popular victory and payout.
